Welcome to the Slack integration guide! Follow these steps to connect Jimo with Slack and forward survey responses to your Slack channels.

Overview

This integration allows you to:

  • Send survey data to Slack when a response is received.

  • Easily collaborate and share survey response data in Slack to leverage user insights across product development.

Setting Up the Slack Integration

Access the Integrations Dashboard

  1. Click on Integrations in the left sidebar.

  2. Locate the Slack integration and click on the Connect button.

Authorize Jimo in Slack

  1. You will be redirected to a Slack authorization page.

  2. Grant the necessary permissions to allow Jimo to access your Slack workspace.

Confirm Slack Integration

  1. Once authorized, you will be redirected back to Jimo.

  2. The Slack integration setup page will display a confirmation that your Slack workspace is connected.

Configuring the Slack Integration

Once your Slack workspace is connected, you can customize what information is sent in your survey notifications.

Access Slack Integration Settings

  1. In the Integrations tab, hover over the Slack card — the Connect button will now display Configure.

  2. Click Configure to open your Slack integration details.

Customize “Properties to Send”

You can now decide which user properties are included in the Slack messages triggered by survey responses.

By default, Jimo sends:

  • Email

  • Name

  • ID

These default properties can be removed at any time.

  • You can also add new properties, including:

    • Native attributes (e.g. Last activity, Created on)

    • Custom attributes synced from your user data

Click Add, select your desired properties, and confirm by clicking “Add properties”.


Configuring Slack Notifications for Surveys

Access Survey Integrations

  1. Under the Insights section, click on the Integrations tab.

  • A: Integrations tab.

  • C: Select channels to send responses.

Select Slack Channels

  1. Ensure that your Slack integration status is Connected.

  2. Select the Slack channels where you want to send survey responses.

  • A: Public channels will appear automatically.

  • B: For private channels, invite the Jimo bot using the command /invite @Jimo.

  • C: Save your selection.

Customize Notification Settings

  1. By default, Jimo will send a summary message of all survey responses upon survey completion.

  2. If you want to receive notifications for each individual survey response as they are submitted, enable the option to receive Slack notifications for each answer.

Troubleshooting

  • If you do not see certain channels, ensure that the Jimo bot is invited to those channels.

  • Verify that the Slack integration status is connected in the survey's integration tab.

Disconnecting the Integration

If you wish to disconnect Jimo from Slack, navigate back to the Slack integration setup page in Jimo and click on the Disconnect Integration button.
